The Corps of Cadets welcomes you to the Eagle Battalion web page. Established in 2011, the Eagle Battalion enjoys a proud tradition of excellence. Eagle Battalion cadets are well-rounded students who are active participates in numerous school activities, clubs and athletic teams. Army JROTC is one of most rewarding opportunities a high school student can experience that provides academic and self-developmental challenges; as well as physical wellness and life skills enhancement.
We do this by instilling leadership skills, offering a rich learning environment, and by giving cadets the opportunities they need to realize their full potential. We achieve this by facilitating engaging classroom learning using our JROTC curriculum and offering numerous and exciting co-curricular activities for cadets to be placed in a leadership situations by which they can learn and grow.

Pleasanton High School Earns Honor Unit with Distinction Designation
During JROTC Program of Accreditation (JPA)
The Pleasanton High School JROTC Eagle Battalion, established on 28 September 2011 was awarded the Honor Unit with Distinction for an exemplary performance during their Tri-annual JROTC Program of Accreditation (JPA). The JPA inspection was conducted by 5th ROTC Brigade, headquartered at Fort Sam Houston, Texas on 5 February 2021.
All cadets in the JROTC Program, which includes students from Pleasanton, Jourdanton and Poteet High School spent the last several months preparing for the JPA with numerous internal competitions and events to help achieve a battalion-wide goal of excellence. All cadets prepared a portfolio that captures numerous examples of lessons learned in JROTC, personal goals, academic resumes, and accomplishments that will remain with them throughout their entire JROTC experience. Because of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the traditional face to face JPA was modified, however events such as a battalion internal drill and ceremony challenge, uniform inspection competition, daily cadet staff collaboration and Cadet Portfolio development ensured 100% of the cadets had a hand in the overall success of the battalion during the JPA.
core of 96.9% is the best in the history of the school. for the next 3 years to display the sense of pride and accomplishment from attaining the Honor Unit with Distinction designation.
