o GOLF: There is a golf sign-up meeting TODAY, and TOMORROW after school in Coach Guerra’s room 711. This meeting is for those who are seriously interested in playing golf this year and will be a new player to the program. If you cannot attend after school, go see Coach Guerra before school on those same days.
o NHS is having a blood drive TODAY, December 12th. Please see an NHS member or ask Mrs. Leonhardt for more information
o Seniors: Cap and Gown retakes will be TOMORROW, December 13th. You must see Mrs. Higginbotham to schedule your appointment.
o Students: Are you interested in auditioning for the One Act Play, there will be a meeting on TOMORROW, December 13th from 4:15 – 5:00 pm in the Black Box. Bring your calendar with your schedule and all conflicts. If you are unable to attend the meeting, contact Ms. Rodriguez.
o NHS: There is a mandatory NHS meeting after school in the library TOMORROW, December 13th. All members, including the newly inducted members, are expected to attend. Please bring your dues and hour sheets to this meeting. This is the last monthly meeting this semester.
o Students: PHS Student Council is collecting money for Sutherland Springs. We are holding a contest. Each of your teachers will have a Ziploc bag to collect money. The teacher who collects the most money will win a prize. In addition to that the winning teacher will be provided a popcorn party for each of their classes. So, start giving your money to the teacher you think should win the prize. Remember all your money will be going directly to Sutherland Springs.
o Cowboy Homecoming Queen: On December 19th at 4:00 pm in the high school cafeteria, there will be a meeting for all sophomores, juniors and seniors interested in running for 2018 Cowboy Homecoming Queen. Please call Ms. Cindy Mumm at 830-569-2163 for more information.
o Students: It is time to drag out those ugly sweaters for the annual student council ugly sweater contest. The contest will be on December 20th during both lunches. Prizes will be given.
o Congratulations to all students who have 3 or less absences for the semester. To celebrate, we will be hosting the First Annual STUDENTS vs. TEACHERS dodge ball game!! It will take place December 20th during 8th period in the old gym. ONLY students with perfect attendance are allowed to play….and those with 3 or less absences are allowed in to the game to watch. See Mrs. Kaiser in room 308 to sign up to play. Keep up your great attendance. When you miss school, you miss out!!
o All boys interested in running track need to attend one of the following meetings, in the new gym classroom on December 20th at 4:00PM or on December 21st at 7:30AM. If you are unable to attend either of these meetings, you need to see Coach Rutland.
o PAJAMAS…How great would it be to wear your Christmas pj’s to school?? Guess what…you CAN! On December 22nd, everyone is encouraged to wear a Christmas onesie or pajama pants. Student Council will sponsor a Christmas pajama contest. To participate in the contest, you need to wear your onesie or pajama pants and go to the library the during breakfast, the best pajamas will win a prize. This event is only allowed on December 22nd.
o Students: HOSA is doing a blanket drive to help local health care facilities this winter. Stop by Mrs. Cook’s or Mrs. Feltner’s rooms to donate blankets.
o Hey PHS! Do you want to spend the night at the Plestex Theater and watch movies all night with your friends? You can! Sign up for the Lock-in to be held on January 12th from midnight to 6 am. Cost to attend is $10. Movies featured will be Ferris Bueller's Day Off, The F8 of the Furious, and Inside Out. To attend the Lock-in, you must have 90% attendance, have never been assigned to ISS or the ROC, and submit your application and payment by the deadline. Pick up an Application from Mrs. Olivarri's Room 507. There will be drawings for gift cards between movies for anyone who wears their Class T-shirt to this event, so buy your shirt!
o Students: Will you be getting your permit or driver’s license during the Christmas break? Please see Mrs. Higginbotham for your V-O-E, verification of enroll. You must have 90% attendance for this form to be validated.
