The Pleasanton High School Counseling Office is open Monday - Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.  Students and parents are always welcome.  If a student or parent needs to meet at a time before or after our regular hours, please call the office and we will be glad to set up an appointment.

HS Students Ages 14 to 18:  The Atascosa County Soil & Water Conservation District #307 is again sponsoring a Conservation Essay Contest for Atascosa County Students.  The topic for this year's contest is: "Healthy Soils are Full of Life".  See website for more detailed information:  www.naednet.org/general-resources/stewardship-and-education-materials/2017-healthy-soils/
The essay is due in the Atascosa County SWCD office located at 107 Wyoming Blvd. in Pleasanton on Friday, January 12, 2018.
 
SOPHOMORES:  Karnes Electric Cooperative, Inc. is pleased to announce that it will be sponsoring one student from our service area to participate in the 2018 Government in Action Youth Tour.  This will be a 10-day all-expense paid trip for a tour of national and historic sites in Washington D.C.  Deadline to submit application is Friday, December 29, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. in the Karnes City Office.  Application is available on website:  www.karnesec.org (copy is posted below also).
 
JUNIORS:  Valley Telephone Cooperative, Inc. is sponsoring one student's attendance at the 2018 Youth Tour in Washington D.C. for June 2 - 6, 2018.  Award criteria and essay topic on application. The deadline to apply is March 16, 2018.  Pick up copy of application in Counseling Center.
 
SENIORS:  The School of Health Professions at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is accepting applications Dec. 1, 2017 - Jan. 19, 2018 for the Summer Program June 4 - July 20, 2018.  Students interested in the allied health professions could benefit from a 7-week educational experience offering hands-on experiences in college-level molecular, cellular, and microbiological laboratory techniques, as well as in-depth workshops in Medical Dosimetry, Radiation Therapy and Diagnostic Imaging.
